On June 21, the 3rd “the Belt and Road” Enterprise Trade and Investment Fair of the 3rd Qingdao Summit of Leaders of Multi-national Company was held in Qingdao. Zhao Haozhi, Deputy Secretary of the Qingdao Municipal Committee and Mayor, attended the fair and delivered a speech, Deng Yunfeng, Deputy Secretary of the Qingdao Municipal Committee, attended it. Wang Qifeng, Deputy Secretary of the Party committee, Director and General Manager of Shandong Hi-Speed Group, was invited to participate in it, and Xu Meng, Deputy Secretary of the Party committee, Director and General Manager of Eurasia Railway Logistics Company, made the special promotion of the China – Europe Railway Express (Qilu). With the theme of “clearing channels, expanding trade and promoting cooperation”, the event gave full play to the resources and platform advantages of the 3rd Qingdao summit of leaders of multi-national company, focused on the reality of the modern SCO Demonstration Area, including the hot topics of industrial chain, supply chain and enterprises in the field of global economy and trade, comprehensively introduced platform carriers such as “China-Shanghai Cooperation Organization International Super- port”, and showed the new development direction and potential of the SCO Demonstration Area, promoted the economic and trade cooperation between Qingdao and the SCO and the “the Belt and Road” countries, and improved the epochal, leading and targeted roles of the fair. Xu Meng made the special promotion of the China – Europe Railway Express (Qilu) at the fair with the theme of “building a major international logistics channel and creating a new highland for opening up”.

Shandong Province is the first province in China for the overall planning of China – Europe Railway Express. Since the overall operation of China – Europe Railway Express (Qilu) in October 2018, Shandong Hi-Speed Group had operated more than 1000 trains for three consecutive years, with a total of more than 5000 trains, which effectively unblocked the international logistics channel connecting Japan and South Korea in the east and Europe and Asia in the west, accelerated the construction of the SCO Demonstration Area, expanded and improved all-round cooperation with SCO countries and regions, accelerated the full implementation of RCEP (Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership) and made positive contributions to building a new platform for international cooperation under the “the Belt and Road”.

As the assembly center of three major trains determined by the provincial Party committee and relying on the SCO Demonstration Area Multimodal Transport Center, Qingdao had witnessed the rapid growth in the operation of China – Europe Railway Express, with a total of more than 1800 trains. In 2021, more than 600 trains were operated, ranking the second in the province. Since the beginning of this year, with the promotion and support of the Qingdao municipal Party committee and government, trains had overcome the dual impact of the epidemic and the international situation in Qingdao, showing strong resilience and competitiveness. 357 trains were operated in the first five months, with a year-on-year increase of 37.3%, exceeding the average growth rate of the province by 33.7 percentage points, ranking the first in the province. In mid June, more than 400 trains were operated in Qingdao, achieving the growth against the trend as the driving force to boost the growth of foreign trade in Qingdao.

Next, the Company would lay out a dense international airline network with the SCO Demonstration Area as a link, deepen the economic exchanges between SCO countries and Shandong and speed up the construction of the international logistics center in the SCO Demonstration Area to provide strong support for building the sea port for SCO countries towards the Asia Pacific market, seize the construction opportunity of “sea, land, air, railway and mail” linkage international super- port, accelerate the construction of smart parks and oversea locations, and accelerate the high-quality development of China – Europe Railway Express (Qilu).
